Use your language skills, get real life job experience and earn credit all at the same time at EKU!

 

The Department of Foreign Languages and Humanities teams up with the Office of Cooperative Education to provide fresh, new learning opportunities in the real world!

You know the one,... that class listed as 349: Co-op on your curriculum guide. Just how are you supposed to figure out how to do that one? Well, talk to us and find out how to earn your credit hours while actually using the language skills you learned in the classroom!

Employers call us to hire a qualified employee and you get fantastic, resume fattening work experience in your field!

Some of the places our students have worked include:

  • Clark, Garrard, and Madison County Public Schools directly in instructional classrooms.
  • Clark, Garrard, and Madison County Health Departments assisting in patient relations with doctors and nurses.

These positions typically pay $9.00-$14.00 per hour

Past positions filled samples:

Beginning Spanish Instructor (2 positions) - Clark County elementary school systems seeks a person with some experience with elementary age students to teach basic/introductory Spanish."Very basic content." Salaries range from $8.00-$10.00 per hour depending on level of experience. Contact Manuel Cortes-Castaneda for more information.
