B.A. in French
Major Requirements: A student may major in French by completing a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in French courses numbered 200 and above. The following courses are required: FRE 340, FRE 360; six (6) hours from FRE 301, FRE 302, FRE 131, FRE 314, FRE 315, FRE 400; and nine (9) hours of upper division electives. A grade of "C" or higher is required in each course for credit towards the major. Students are also required to pass a departmental proficiency exam which covers spoken and written language, culture, and literature.
Supporting Course Requirements: FCC 220 is required. Strongly recommended: six (6) hours in a second foreign language; three hours each in upper division English courses in grammar and literature; HIS 354.
General Education Requirements: Forty-nine (49) hours of the General Education Program.
University Requirement: ASO 100 (1 credit hour)
Free Electives: Forty-five (45) credit hours
Total Curriculum Requirements: 128 credit hours
B.A. in French Teaching
Major requirements: A Student may major in French Teaching by completing a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in French courses numbered 200 and above. The following courses are required: FRE 340, and FRE 360; six (6) hours selected from FRE 301, FRE 302, FRE 313, FRE 314, FRE 315, or FRE 400; and nine (9) hours of upper division electives. A grade of "C" or higher is required in each course for credit towards the major. Students must attain a 2.75 GPA in their teaching major and must pass a departmental proficiency exam, which covers spoken and written language, cultures and literature, to be recommended for student teaching. In addition, students must take the standard program of 34 hours of teacher education requirements.
Supporting Course Requirements: FCC 220 is required. Strongly recommended: six (6) hours in a second foreign language; three hours each in upper division English courses in grammar and literature; HIS 354.
Professional Educational Requirements: Thirty-four (34) credit hours in EDF 103, 203, 319, 413; SED 401; EME 442; ESE 490, 543; AND EMS 499.
General Education Requirements: Forty-nine (49) hours of the General Education Program.

Free Electives: Eleven (11) credit hours
